Edmonton Public Schools will be opening A. Blair McPherson School September 2010 to serve the needs of students in several communities. As a result, students that reside in the neighbourhood of Silverberry, will have the schools they are designated to, changed.
In September, 2010 Bisset School will be the designated school for elementary students living in the Silverberry neighbourhood.
We are sending a letter with the information below to all residences in the area.
Before reading the information below, download and find your home on this map.
For elementary students attending Bisset School in September 2010
If you live within the walk boundary (green area on the map):
Transportation will not be provided to students living in the school's neighbourhood walk boundary.
If you live outside the walk boundary but within the 2.4 km boundary (yellow areas on the map):
Service will be provided via fewer stops, located centrally within each of the designated attending neighbourhoods.
If you live outside the 2.4 km boundary (pink areas on the map):
Yellow bus service will be provided at fixed route stop locations.
For students living in the Silverberry neighbourhood, but not attending Bisset School
Students that continue to attend regular programs at their current school will not receive yellow bus service.
Student Transportation will continue to provide service for elementary students attending alternative programs, or District Centre special needs programs at schools outside of the new school attendance areas. Applying for elementary yellow bus service
Step 1: Submit an application for yellow bus service. Applications are being mailed to residences in the school boundaries. Kindergarten applications will be available shortly.
Step 2: Return your completed application form to the school your child is currently attending by May 28, 2010.
When you have been approved, you will receive a letter from Student Transportation before August 15, 2010 with the following information:
- Yellow bus route number
- Bus company contact information
- Pickup and drop off schedules and stop locations
