Safety

At Bisset we believe that a child learns best in a safe and caring environment. Therefore, safety comes first at all times. Children are encouraged to behave in a safe manner (see Discipline Policy, page 10).

The school, parents and community are expected to cooperate whenever necessary to ensure the safety of all the children in our community, whether within the school setting or on their way to and from school.

Parking at Bisset

Our biggest safety concern is cars and where they are parked!! All parents, students, caregivers and staff must follow the basic parking / drop-off rules around the school and adhere to city bi-laws to ensure the children's safety. The drop-off zone (5 minute maximum) is between the School Bus Zone and just before the crosswalk. The drop-off zone is not a parking zone where you leave your vehicle.

Parents may not park or drop-off children in the staff parking lot, the crosswalk or perform any u-turns (an illegal maneuver). This parking limitation is enforced by the Edmonton Police.
