Parents need to be strong partners in the education of their children. There is a positive relationship between the involvement of parents and the academic success their children achieve.

We ask parents to take an active role at Bisset School in a number of different ways:

• home study time
• planning for appropriate behaviour
• supervising learning labs
• reading with children
• supervising computer skills
• goal setting
• reflecting on progress
• tasks at home
• communicating - parent voice
• supporting school programs

Teachers meet with all parents three times during the year (see page 6). However, both teachers and parents are encouraged to communicate with each other whenever necessary and on an ongoing basis.
