Edmonton Public Schools' initiative to improve teaching and learning, and provide a framework for improving student achievement can be tailored to the individual needs of each school. An instructional emphasis is the central element of a school's framework. At Bisset, the Instructional emphasis is literacy-reading comprehension. Our aim is that all Bisset students will improve in all subject areas through school-wide use of best teaching / learning practices.

Reading comprehension is an important part of the program at Bisset. To further this goal, we concentrate on staff professional development, careful use of appropriate resources, and the selection of particular, effective instructional practices.
